Virat Kohli reminisces one of his favourite cuisines from youth days

Batting megastar Virat Kohli is used to maintaining a strict diet currently in order to keep up his fitness standards, but lately, he has fondly remembered his favourite Chinese dishes that he used to have during his younger days which were manchow soup and fried rice and admitted that he has never tasted any Chinese dish like that ever again.

Furthermore, Kohli added that he used to like visiting a Chinese food outlet named ‘Chuk Chuk Mail’. He recalled his early days of being a foodie during a recent interaction with popular chef Vikas Khanna.

We used to go to a Chinese restaurant: Virat Kohli

“We used to go to a Chinese restaurant. That van’s name was ‘Chuk Chuk Mail’. The manchow soup and fried rice served over there… I have never tasted any Chinese dish like that ever again,” Virat Kohli said during the conversation with master-chef Vikas Khanna at the former’s restaurant in Mumbai.

Today, not only does Virat refrain from having Chinese food, but has also stopped having non-vegetarian having turned vegetarian a few years ago when he had reached the pinnacle of his cricketing career.

Nonetheless, Virat during an interaction with sports broadcaster Gaurav Kapur on his talk show ‘Breakfast With Champions’ a few years ago did mention that he does not mind having a cheat meal once in a while which happens to be Chole Bhature. During that show, Virat Kohli had told Kapur that he loves visiting Ram’s Chole Bhature in Rajouri Garden.

Meanwhile, the batting icon is currently in Bangladesh representing India in the ongoing first Test match in Chattogram. He failed in the first innings as he walked back to the pavilion scoring a painstaking one run off five deliveries. Kohli did not look in great touch during his short stay at the crease before eventually being trapped in front of the wicket by Taijul Islam.
