AUS vs WI: Five players to watch out for
Australia will be hosting West Indies in the two-match Test series starting from November 30 at Perth Stadium. They have won four of their last five Test matches against eighth-ranked West Indies and top the current ICC Test Team chart.
- Kemar Roach
The veteran West Indies pacer is just seven wickets behind bowling great Joel Garner and could become the fifth-highest wicket-taker for his team in Test cricket. Roach remains the only West Indies bowler to rank in the top ten of the current ICC Test Bowlers chart. He has taken 252 runs from 73 Test matches at an average of 26.83 and will be looking forward to making a big impact in this series.
- Tagenarine Chanderpaul
The top-order batter is all set to make his long-awaited debut for the red-ball team after scoring a century and a fifty from two innings in the last four-day tour match. He is a son of legendary batter Shivnarine Chanderpaul and will be under a pressure to make an instant impact on his debut.
- David Warner
The star opener ended his century drought by smashing 106 runs in the last ODI against England and also warned opponents by scoring 204 runs from three innings. Warner scored only 64 runs from four innings against Sri Lanka in Australia’s last Test series and will be under the scanner to perform in this series.
- Scott Boland
The 33-year-old pacer took 18 wickets from just six innings at an average of 9.55 and an economy rate of 2.11 in the 2022 Ashes in Australia. But that was his only and last appearance for Australia. Despite amazing numbers, Boland has struggled to penetrate Australia’s famous pace attack of Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood, and Mitchell Starc.
- Alex Carey
The experienced wicketkeeper batter will be under pressure to perform after poor outings against Sri Lanka in the last Test series. Carey has scored only 451 runs from 15 innings at a poor average of 32.21 in Test cricket so far. He is the only selected wicketkeeper option for Australia in this series and has no real competition for his spot currently.
