T20 World Cup 2022: Weather improves ahead of high-octane India vs Pakistan clash

It appears as though the rain gods have finally shown some mercy to cricket fans as the weather has improved in Melbourne ahead of the blockbuster clash between India and Pakistan in the T20 World Cup 2022. The arch rivals are set to lock horns in the showpiece event once again, a year after last year’s edition at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on 23 October, Sunday.

Days prior to the clash, it was reported that rain could potentially play spoilsport with showers expected on the day of the match as predicted by Accuweather. However, there could be some great news for fans across the world following the marquee event.

Good news ahead of India-Pakistan clash

Since Saturday morning, the weather appears to have drastically improved with no rains during the course of the day. That said, a few days ago, the Australian MET department predicted a 60% chance of showers on the day of the clash.

However, the cloud cover is still at 100% which essentially translates to the weather being cloudy throughout with wind gusts expected to pick up over 30 km/h. While the ambiance appears to be cloudy, it has not yet poured down in the location of the event.

This may be good news for fans of both cricketing nations who are anticipating an epic encounter, come Sunday. However, leading up to the match, the reports by Accuweather still predict a forecast with late-night rain.

While the match may not be affected in the initial hours, as per the prediction of the forecast, the effect may be seen towards the later half of the clash. It remains to be seen if the weather will further improve and we get to witness for what is anticipated to be a great encounter between the Asian heavyweights.

Both sides will look to start on a high note if the rain does not affect the game. Rohit Sharma-led India will look to seek redemption as they had lost the very same fixture last year.
