IND vs SA: Top 5 performers of the T20I Series
Team India completed a thumping series victory over South Africa as they defeated the visiting team in the first two T20I encounters. However, a strong comeback from the Proteas meant that the Men in Blue could not complete a series whitewash over the visiting team. On that note, let us take a look at the top five performers of the series.
5. Quinton de Kock (138 runs)
Senior batter Quinton de Kock was in excellent touch during the three-match series as he stroked 138 runs at an average of 69. The left-handed batter completed an excellent fifty and formed a vital partnership with batter Rilee Rossouw during the third T20I. He also played a valiant knock during the second T20I but could not win the game for his side.
4. David Miller (125 runs)
Another South African batter on the list is David Miller. Miller almost completed an incredible chase for his team during the second encounter as he smashed an excellent century. He also smashed 19 runs in just five deliveries in the third match, which included three maximums that helped his side post a challenging total on the board.
3. Suryakumar Yadav (119 runs)
Batter Suryakumar Yadav continued his good form with the bat against South Africa as well. The right-handed batter finished as the third-highest run-getter after amassing 119 runs at an average of almost 60. He is going to be one of India’s main performers in the upcoming 2022 T20 World Cup.
2. Keshav Maharaj (four wickets)
South Africa’s senior spinner Keshav Maharaj bowled with a lot of discipline and helped his side to get some crucial breakthroughs throughout the series. The left-arm spinner scalped four wickets in three matches and was clearly South Africa’s best bowler in the series.
1. Arshdeep Singh (five wickets)
India’s left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh played only two matches in the series, but he was the highest wicket-taker with a total of five wickets. The left-arm pacer completely bamboozled the visitor’s top-order during the first game of the series and then bowled well in the second T20I as well, barring his last over where he was bashed by Miler.
