Kerala fans exhibit love for Virat Kohli with massive flex

India have one last opportunity at hand to prepare well for the T20 World Cup 2022 with a three-match T20I series against South Africa at home starting Wednesday, September 28.

The first of the T20Is is set to be played at the Greenfield Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala and the players received a warm welcome in the city. One of the noticeable moves from the fans was the massive flex for star batter Virat Kohli outside of the Greenfield Stadium.

Kohli has a huge set of followers around the world and his return to form in recent times has brought about celebrations inside the country. Such has been his consistency and passion for the game ever since his international debut and the 33-year old scored a crucial half-century in the final T20I against Australia to seal the series 2-1 in India’s favour.

Interestingly, the last time India played a T20 international at the ground was in 2019 against the West Indies and Kohli was the captain of the side on that occasion. Going by his current form, Kohli will look to repay the love with a match-winning knock to set the tone for the series.

In addition to Kohli’s flex, cricket fanatics in Thiruvananthapuram have also put up towering flexes of some of the other prominent Indian cricketers including local hero Sanju Samson, MS Dhoni and India skipper Rohit Sharma.

Meanwhile, India are yet to lose a T20I series since the T20 World Cup 2021 and skipper Rohit Sharma has led his troops quite well so far. With just few weeks to go for the mega ICC event in Australia, it will be important for the Men in Blue to bag another series victory.

Hardik Pandya will not be available for the series and hence, it will present an opportunity for Rishabh Pant to prove his case in the playing XI. Arshdeep Singh is also expected to return into the playing XI with Bhuvneshwar Kumar being rested for the series.
