Virat Kohli heaps praises on Suryakumar Yadav after Australia series win
India’s exciting 187-run chase against Australia on Sunday in Hyderabad to win the T20I series was orchestrated by Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav. Virat Kohli led India with a 48-ball 63 while Yadav smashed 69 off 36 as they teamed for a 104-run stand. Kohli was all praises for Suryakumar Yadav and said that he has been in outstanding form over the past six months.
Before the third T20I, the series was leveled at 1-1, and it was a do-or-die situation for the two teams. Australia posted a 187-run target after the first innings, but the Indian batters did a brilliant job and chased it down in the final over, with just one ball to spare. All-rounder Hardik Pandya carried the momentum of the game after Kohli and Yadav’s dismissal, which helped India clinch the series.
“It’s absolute clarity in what he wants to do. He has the game to bat at any sort of situation, in any conditions. He has shown that already. He got a hundred in England. He has batted beautifully in the Asia Cup as well. Here he was striking the ball as well as I have seen him,” Kohli said after the third match in Hyderabad.
For the last six months, he’s been outstanding: Kohli
India lost their opening pair of Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul quickly while chasing. However, Kohli and Suryakumar batted superbly to keep India in control of the chase for the majority of the innings. While Yadav lost his wicket in the 14th over, Kohli lost his wicket in the final over, but he had set the tone with Pandya on the field, which made it easy for the latter to finish off the game smoothly.
“For the last six months, he’s been outstanding. It’s just the array of shots, and to play those shots at the right time is such a tremendous skill for a guy who knows his game inside out and has no fear whatsoever in trying to execute those shots,” Kohli added while speaking of Suryakumar Yadav.
