Most 50-plus scores at No. 3 or below in men’s T20Is
T20 is a batters’ game and the bulk of scoring is mostly done by the top four batters. Each international team has one or two top-order batters who look to play throughout the 20 overs and score the most runs for their team. Here are the top three batters who have the most 50-plus scores while coming at number three or below in men’s T20Is.
3. JP Duminy, Faf Du Plessis, Dawid Malan, Mohammad Hafeez (11 fifties)
There are four batters at the third position including two left-handers and two right-handers with all four of them scoring 11 fifties. South African batters including Faf Du Plessis and JP Duminy have been two of the most prolific batters in the Proteas batting line-up. Similarly, England star batter Dawid Malan and senior Pakistani batter Mohammad Haefez have also achieved the feat.
2. Eoin Morgan (14 fifties)
Former England skipper and middle-order batter Eoin Morgan comes second in the list after smashing 14 fifties. The left-handed batter used to bat at the number four position mostly and he has played several breath-taking knocks for the Three Lions during his international career. Morgan used to take some time to get settled on the wicket, but once he got his eyes in, none of the bowling units in the international arena could stop him.
1. Virat Kohli (30 fifties)
Former team India skipper and modern-day legend Virat Kohli comes first in the list after smashing 30 fifties while coming to bat at the number three position or below. The right-handed batter was in emphatic form during the recently concluded 2022 T20 Asia Cup as he stroked his 71st international century. The right-handed batter will want to continue his good form ahead as well.
