Fastest Indians to complete 100 ODI wickets

Nothing is more crucial to a team than a bowler who can consistently take wickets. Wickets halt the flow of runs, and the fewer runs the opponent team scores, the greater the likelihood of victory. In Test cricket, bowlers have a considerably higher chance of taking more wickets.

But picking wickets can be challenging in a limited-overs game since the field must be more defensive and the bowlers are only given a few overs to bowl. Under such crunch situations and difficult conditions, picking 100 wickets in the format is a significant accomplishment for the bowler. On that note, let us look at the fastest Indian bowlers to take 100 ODI wickets.

Kuldeep Yadav- 58 matches

Spinner Kuldeep Yadav is ranked third on the list as he achieved the feat in his 58th match. He has been in the international setup since 2017 when he made his debut in his early 20s. While playing against Australia in January 2020, Yadav became the fastest Indian spinner to claim 100 wickets in ODIs.

Jasprit Bumrah- 57 matches

The Indian pacer has earned laurels ever since he entered the Indian international side and he has been hugely acclaimed for his unique bowling action. In July 2019, while playing against Sri Lanka, Bumrah claimed his 100th ODI wicket in his 57th game and etched his name in history books by becoming the second fastest bowler to do so.

Mohammed Shami- 56 matches

The veteran pacer, who has also been one of the finest on the Indian side, became the fastest Indian bowler to pick 100 ODI wickets when he achieved the feat in January 2019. While competing against New Zealand, Shami dismissed Martin Guptill to break the record and top the list as he claimed his 100th wicket in just his 56th game.
