These newcomers will want to prove themselves in the international arena and secure themselves a ticket to Australia. On that note, let us look at three players who can be surprise inclusions in India’s T20 World Cup squad.
3. Umran Malik
Express pacer Umran Malik has been in the news since his excellent performance during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. Looking at his bowling antics in the tournament, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) selected Umran in the Indian squad to play against South Africa. Even though he has not made his debut till now, the team management will surely want to include him in the playing XI soon. If Umran manages to impress the selectors then he can certainly be a top contender for the World Cup squad.
2. Arshdeep Singh
The left-arm pacer from Punjab Arshdeep Singh is waiting for his turn to show his bowling at the highest level. Arshdeep has been a consistent performer for his franchise Punjab Kings (PBKS). The young pacer has the ability to nail yorkers during the death overs and can take wickets with the new ball as well. Arshdeep will want to make his debut soon and replicate his good performance in the international arena as well.
1. Avesh Khan
Pacer Avesh Khan has also given some good performances and has been involved with the Indian team for a decent part. He bowled well during the second T20I between India and South Africa as he gave away only 17 runs in three overs. Avesh can be very lethal with the new ball and can generate a decent amount of pace as well which can be helpful at the Australian pitches.
