The series will be important for both teams, with the T20 World Cup 2022 coming up this year in Australia, and every match from here on will enable the skipper to try out different combinations.
India has rested the big names like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Jasprit Bumrah for the series, while KL Rahul and Kuldeep Yadav have been injured ahead of the start. This meant that Rishabh Pant will be leading the side for the five-match T20Is, with Hardik Pandya being named the vice-captain.
