42 years 47 days – Misbah-Ul-Haq vs England in 2016
Former Pakistan captain Misbah Ul Haq scored a brilliant century at Lord’s in the 2016 tour of England and it was the third oldest by a batter at the venue at 42 years and 47 days. The right-hander came in at five in Pakistan’s first innings and scored 114 from 199 deliveries with 18 boundaries to his name. His knock helped the visitors take a substantial lead in the first innings and ended up winning the game by 75 runs.
43 years 194 days – Jack Hobbs vs Australia in 1926
Jack Hobbs opened the batting for England and he came up with a scintillating knock in 1926. The right-hander scored 119 while opening the innings with 14 boundaries to his name and helped England to a massive lead in the first innings at the Lord’s. Hobbs was 43 years and 194 days at the time when he scored a century at the venue and he still is the second oldest to achieve the feat at Lord’s.
43 years 202 days – Warren Bardsley vs England in 1926
In the same Test where Hobbs scored 119, Warren Bardsley scored a massive century in the first innings while opening the innings for Australia at 43 years and 202 days of age. The left-hander scored an unbeaten 193 with 13 fours in the innings and it turned out to be his highest individual score. Bardsley’s stupendous knock helped Australia in posting a good total in the first innings and he carried the bat in the first innings.
