Gujarat not dependent on one player and that’s what sets them apart: Rahul Tewatia
Gujarat Titans (GT) surprised everyone after grabbing the top spot in the league stage with 10 wins from 14 matches. No one has counted them in after the mega auction but, they proved wrong the critics wrong completely as they are now in the final of this year’s IPL in their maiden appearance.
GT’s exciting all-rounder Rahul Tewatia spoke in the latest interview with about Gujarat’s journey so far in the tournament. He pointed out the complete team effort which has helped them to have such a wonderful season. He also added that Hardik Pandya as captain and Ashish Nehra as a coach have been a surprise package for everybody.
Tewatia said in an exclusive interview with Times Now- “Our team is not dependent on one player but the entire team performs and that’s what sets us apart. The team atmosphere is very relaxed and chilled and that’s what has helped us perform like this.”

Rahul Tewatia has scored 217 runs in 12 innings so far in the ongoing IPL with a strike rate of 147.62. His cameos have helped GT to win some crucial games from crunchy situations. Talking about his batting under such a pressure situation, he told: “I love being under pressure – it gets the best out of me.”
Tewatia also praised Miller’s contribution as the batter is having his best season in his IPL career. He added: “ David Miller is showing what he can do now that he has been given a platform. Earlier there were no chances given to him.”
Tewatia expressed his dream of donning the colors of Team India is still on as he just wants to keep doing his basics with the hope of national selection. Ahead of this year’s IPL final, Tewatia is looking not to change anything much and he thanked Gujarat Titans fans for their constant support.
“Lastly, Gujarat titans fans have been amazing and it is going to be a privilege to play in front of them on Sunday in Ahmedabad,” he concluded.
