Mukesh Choudhary – The improving youngster who is making his mark

While The Indian Premier League has proven to be a platform for experienced players to rediscover their form and knock on the selectors’ doors, it has also been a field of hope and chances for emerging players. With the bat, several young hitters have shown their talent. However, just a few young pacers have impressed with the ball, and the Chennai Super Kings left-handed seamer Mukesh Choudhary is one of them.

Although the team’s performance in the IPL 2022 has been dismal, he has proven to be a blessing in disguise. Deepak Chahar was ruled out of the tournament before the season, and his ability to take wickets in the first few overs was being missed. CSK had no choice but to include Choudhary in the team, and he has succeeded so far.

Choudhary made his debut for CSK while playing against the Lucknow Super Giants, the team that included a top-notch opening pair. Choudhary went wicketless in the game as the dew played a major factor. But since then, he has grabbed at least one wicket in all the games that he has played. He was phenomenal for CSK against the Mumbai Indians when he dismissed Rohit Sharma, Ishan Kishan, and Dewald Brevis in the powerplay.

Choudhary is a rare bowler because of his skill to swing the ball two ways and he has started providing his team with the crucial wickets like Chahar used to. Even once Chahar returns to the roster next season, Choudhary may be a potent weapon for them with the new ball. The two can display combined efforts to take on the opposition.

In his recent game against the Sunrisers Hyderabad, Choudhary provided his team with vital breakthroughs, as he dismissed the powerful top-order players in the powerplay, and scalped two major wickets in the death overs. His performances so far have been remarkable as the youngster keeps improving with each passing game in the league making his case stronger.
