3 Records Jos Buttler has in his sight with his form in IPL 2022
England and Rajasthan Royals batter Jos Buttler is in sublime touch in the 2022 Indian Premier League (IPL). The right-handed batter recently smashed his third ton of IPL 2022. He played an excellent knock of 116 off 65 balls against the Delhi Capitals and was named the Player of the Match. On that note, let us take a look at three records that Buttler has in his sight with his form in IPL 2022.
1. Most Runs in a single edition
Run Machine Virat Kohli has amassed 973 runs in a single season (IPL 2016). Meanwhile, Buttler is currently playing at an average of 81.83 and has already scored 491 runs in just seven matches. The right-handed batter will surely play in the remaining seven matches of the tournament if he does not get any injuries. He has an uphill task of making 482 runs but if his team qualifies for the play-offs, then Buttler will surely in contention to break the record.
2. Most centuries in a single edition
Just like most runs, star batter Virat Kohli has scored the most number of centuries (four) in a single tournament during IPL 2016. However, Buttler is right behind the Indian batter after smashing three centuries already. Buttler has so far stroked hundreds against the Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders, and DC.
3. Scoring three consecutive centuries in IPL
As mentioned above, Buttler has scored two back-to-back centuries against KKR and DC. The right-handed batter played an excellent knock of 103 runs against the Men in Purple. Similarly, he played a knock of 116 against the Capitals. The Royals are scheduled to play against RCB in their next group stage match and Jos Buttler will be eyeing his third consecutive century in the history of IPL
