IPL 2022: RR vs KKR Preview – Derailed Rajasthan aim for a comeback

The Rajasthan Royals will be locking horns with the Kolkata Knight Riders in Match 30 of IPL 2022 at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai on April 17. Both teams would be heading into this clash having lost their respective encounters. While RR suffered a 37-run defeat to the Gujarat Titans, KKR went down to Sunrisers Hyderabad by seven wickets.

The Royals had a forgettable outing with both the bat and ball against GT. The bowlers ran out of fire and brimstone after decimating Gujarat’s top-order as Hardik Pandya’s unbeaten 52-ball 87 powered them to a stiff 192, which proved to be way beyond the former champions’ reach in the end. Apart from Englishman Jos Buttler, none of the batters could offer any resistance and were eventually blown away by the pace duo of Lockie Ferguson and Yash Dayal, who registered three scalps each.

KKR, on the other hand, have looked off-colour in the last two matches. The bowlers, including in-form Umesh Yadav, have not been able to showcase consistent performances. Meanwhile, a misfiring top-order has meant that their batting completely revolves around the trio of skipper Shreyas Iyer, Nitish Rana and Caribbean megastar Andre Russell. The two-time winners would be hoping that their team clicks as a unit against RR as they look to snap their winless streak.
