Gujarat Titans have the most attacking bowling unit in IPL 2022: Deep Dasgupta

The new entrants to the Indian Premier League 2022 season, Gujarat Titans (GT) have started the tournament on a strong note with two wins in two league matches and are ranked fourth on the points table. In the first league match against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), they chased down the total of 158 runs, while following it up with a clinical victory by 14 runs against Delhi Capitals (DC) in the following fixture.

The Playing 11 of the GT team is filled with experienced T20 players, who have provided their contribution to a win in the initial matches of the tournament. The pace bowling department of GT includes the likes of Lockie Ferguson, Mohammed Shami, and Hardik Pandya. The former Indian cricketer, Deep Dasgupta believes, GT has the presence of attacking wicket-taking bowlers who can put the opposition under serious pressure.

“Gujarat bowlers are right up there, they have the most attacking bowling unit going around in this competition. All of them are above 140+, and Hardik opening with the ball last game was a very good idea due to his swing,” said Deep Dasgupta on Sky247.net presents ‘Not Just Cricket Show’ on CricTracker.

In the IPL 2022, Gujarat Titans have given away runs at an economy of 6.6 in the powerplay overs and rank 2nd among the 10 teams in the same aspect.

He is extremely accurate: Deep Dasgupta heaps praise on Lockie Ferguson

Deep Dasgupta spoke on the talent of New Zealand fast bowler Lockie Ferguson, who is one of the fastest bowlers in world cricket. In the last league match, Ferguson finished with a figure of 4/28 off four overs and displayed his express pace and accuracy. On the other hand, former Indian cricketer also touched upon the skill of Indian fast bowler, Mohammed Shami, who has scalped five wickets in two appearances of IPL 2022.

“As quick as he is, Lockie is extremely accurate, and that’s another huge thing. Its’s very difficult to kind of get away with it. While Shami has improved his death-over bowling and he can extract wickets from any pitch with the new ball,” Deep added.
