IPL 2022: CSK vs SRH Preview – Beleaguered teams seek upward movement

Defending Champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will take on Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Match 17 of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. The match will be played at Dr DY Patil Sports Academy, Mumbai on April 9 (Saturday). Both CSK and SRH are languishing down the table with no wins in the tournament so far.

The Men in Yellow have lost all their three matches and are placed in the 8th spot in the points table. The defending champions have lost the three contests – against Kolkata Knight Riders, Lucknow Super Giants and Punjab Kings. Under the new leadership of allrounder Ravindra Jadeja, CSK will be looking to open their account on Saturday.

Meanwhile, SRH have also nothing to show in their win column, as they lost both of their previous encounter and are placed 10th in the points table. The Orange Army were taken down by Rajasthan Royals in their tournament opener. Chasing a target of 211, SRH could only manage to score 149/7.

SRH were handed a second defeat by the new entrants Lucknow Super Giants. After restricting LSG on 169/7, the former IPL champions could not get going and lost the match by a margin of 12 runs. Skipper Kane Williamson will be looking to turn the tables in the upcoming match and register their first win in the tournament.
