IPL 2022: DC vs MI Review – Delhi stun Mumbai to clinch their opening win
The Delhi Capitals produced a superb performance to post a four-wicket victory in their opening match of IPL 2022 against the Mumbai Indians (MI). In this high scoring thriller, the Mumbai Indians won the toss and posted a total of 177/5 on the board, with Ishan Kishan top-scoring with 81*.
The Mumbai Indians had the Capitals on the mat as the Rishabh Pant-led side was reeling at 32/3. However, Lalit Yadav kept a cool head and top-scored with a quickfire 48* to finish the job for his side. Axar Patel played a blazing cameo as well. Basil Thampi picked up three wickets for the Rohit Sharma led outfit.

Ishan Kishan produced a rollicking performance with the bat for the Mumbai Indians (MI). The left-hander combined flamboyance and style and scored a superb 81* at a strike rate of close to 170. Kishan also blasted 11 fours and two sixes in his stay out in the middle to power the Rohit Sharma led outfit to 177/5.
2.Lalit Yadav
Lalit Yadav played a stellar knock for the Delhi outfit with the willow. Coming in with the Delhi Capitals’ scorecard reading 32/3, Yadav scored a match-winning 48* off 38 deliveries to finish the job for his side. Yadav’s partnership of 75 runs for the seventh wicket with Axar Patel (38*) ensured that the Capitals started their campaign on a rousing note.
What next for both teams?
The Mumbai Indians will play their next match in the 2022 IPL season on 2nd April 2022 against the Rajasthan Royals at the DY Patil Sports Academy. On the other hand, the Delhi Capitals will next be seen in action on the same day against the Gujarat Titans in the city of Pune.
