IPL 2022: CSK – 3 players to watch out for
The 15th edition of the Indian Premier League will start from March 26 with last-year champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and other finalists Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) starting the tournament. The yellow army, under the leadership of MS Dhoni, will look to defend their title. However, CSK will have their task cut out as two more teams have joined the action in this edition. On that note, let us look at three players to watch out for in CSK.
Ruturaj Gaikwad
Orange cap winner in last year’s edition, opener Ruturaj Gaikwad has been a sensation for the yellow army. The batter it to the CSK side in the 2020 edition, but it was a horrible start to his career. However, he was given more chances by CSK and he proved his mettle. Gaikwad has played 22 matches in which he has scored 839 runs at a strike rate of 132.13. There is no doubt that he is the future of the franchise and will look to provide his best to the team in the upcoming season.
Ambati Rayudu
Senior batter Ambati Rayudu was included by CSK in 2018 and since then he has been an asset to the team. The 36-year-old batter has played a total of 175 matches in IPL and has managed to score 3916 runs with a decent strike rate of 127.47. The middle-order-batter plays with a lot of responsibility and can also keep wickets if MS Dhoni decides to field instead of keeping the wickets.
Ravindra Jadeja
Indian allrounder Ravindra Jadeja was the first retained player by the CSK franchise as they spent a whopping amount of INR 16 crore to bag his services. With 200 IPL games to his name, the left-handed batter has scored 2386 runs with a strike rate of 128.14. Jadeja has scalped 127 wickets in 200 IPL games. The left-arm-spinner has an impressive economy of 7.61 and also has a five-wicket haul under his belt.
