3 fast bowlers India should groom in ODIs
It is only recently that the Indian team has been able to boast of themselves as being one of the best fast bowling units in the world. With the rise of bowlers like Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami, the Indian fast bowling stocks are on an ascendance. Several other fast bowlers are currently in the reserves but can potentially be groomed into being India’s ODI regulars in the future.
Here are 3 fast bowlers India should groom in ODIs:
Mohammed Siraj
Mohammed Siraj is by no means a newbie and has already established himself in India’s test side. However, Siraj has only played the four ODI games and is a bowler India would be keen on investing in and grooming for the future. The 27-year-old in his young career has shown that he possesses an astute cricketing brain on his shoulders. On his day, Siraj can run through sides as the bowler is brilliant with the seam and can swing the ball with help on offer. The Hyderabad cricketer holds the ability to lead India’s One-day attack in the future.
Avesh Khan
Avesh Khan is one of the few bowlers who can clock speeds over 140 consistently. The 25-year-old emerged on the scene through the Indian Premier League and has since shown his wicket-taking abilities. The right-arm fast bowler is good with the new ball and has also shown to possess skills with his death bowling. Such a bowler could be the perfect foil in India’s current bowling attack as he can put the opposition on the back foot at such speed.
The Indore-born cricketer has already debuted for India in T20Is and should well be in India’s ODI plans too.
Prasidh Krishna
Much like Avesh Khan, Prasidh Krishna is yet another young Indian bowler who can steam in with the white ball in hand. His recent IPL and T20I outings have had the right-arm bowler bowl deliveries over 150 km/h. Krishna can be a potential new ball ODI bowler for India. The 26-year-old who has already made his ODI debut could be seen as a long-term option for India given, he is still very young into his career.
