T20 cricket has just gone from strength to strength since its inception 20 years back in 2003. The introduction of T20 leagues all around the world has gained a lot of popularity. Batters especially provide entertainment with their hitting in the fan’s favourite format. But batters do get out for a duck too as they say on some days you score a century and some days you get out without opening the account.

5. Mohammad Hafeez (24)
Mohammad Hafeez has played 20 different teams in T20 cricket. He has contested in 363 T20s and in 338 innings he has bagged 24 ducks. He has appeared in various T20 leagues including the Indian Premier League (IPL) where he was a part of the Kolkata Knight Riders franchise in 2008. The Professor has amassed 7665 runs with an average of 25.63 and two tons and 42 fifties.
4. Aaron Finch and Thisara Perara (25)
Australia’s Aaron Finch and Sri Lanka’s Thisara Perara have both registered 25 ducks in T20 matches. Finch has participated in 347 T20 games and bagged 25 naughts in 341 innings. Perara has 319 matches and 268 innings under his belt. Finch has mustered 10,444 runs with eight tons and 68 fifties. Perara has scored 4060 runs without a century and 11 half-centuries in the T20 format.
3. Umar Akmal, Kamran Akmal and Shahid Afridi (27)
The Pakistani trio of Akmal brothers, Kamran and Umar, and Shahid Afridi have all recorded 27 ducks in the T20s. Afridi has played 329 games and got those ducks in 279 innings. Kamran has taken part in 289 matches and in 272 innings he went out without troubling the scorers 27 times. In 265 T20s and 247 innings, Umar bagged as many ducks. Afridi, Kamran, and Umar have amassed 4399, 6699, and 5631 runs respectively.
2. Lendl Simmons, Dwayne Smith and Alex Hales (28)
West Indies duo of Lendl Simmons and Dwayne Smith have played 288 and 327 T20 innings and have not opened their accounts 28 times. In 331 innings in T20 cricket, England’s Alex Hales has managed 28 naughts. Simmons and Smith have played a lot of T20 cricket for different franchises and thereby registered 7756 and 7780 T20 runs respectively. Hales is approaching 10,000 runs as he has 9371 runs to his name.

Gayle has registered 30 ducks in 463 matches and in 455 innings. The destructive batter has scored mammoth 14562 runs with 22 tons and 88 fifties. The veteran has played for around 25 teams in almost all T20 leagues over the years. Interestingly, Gayle has the highest T20I score of 175* and joint-third ducks (30) as well with two others being bowlers Rashid Khan and Sunil Narine.
