Afghanistan appoint Stuart Law as interim head coach ahead of Bangladesh tour
The Afghanistan cricket team has appointed former Aussie cricketer Stuart Law as the interim head coach of the side. Law will be at the helm of affairs for Afghanistan’s upcoming series against the Bangladesh side.
The Afghanistan Cricket Board also released a statement regarding the matter as well. According to the statement, Law has already reached Bangladesh and will officially begin his duties when Afghanistan locks horns with the Bangladesh side from 23rd February 2022.
“Stuart Grant Law has been named as the interim head coach of our national team. He has already reached Bangladesh and will step up into the role ahead of the upcoming ODI & T20I series against the Bangladesh Tigers,” read a tweet from the official Twitter handle of Afghanistan cricket.

Afghanistan will take on Bangladesh in a limited-overs assignment
The Afghanistan side will lock horns with Bangladesh in a limited-overs series consisting of 3 ODIs and 2 T20I matches. While the entire ODI series will take place at Chattogram, the T20I matches will be played at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka. The series will conclude on 5th March 2022.
Stuart Law represented the Australian cricket team in 1 Test and 54 ODI matches in the 1990s. While he scored 54 runs in Test match cricket, the right-handed batter amassed 1237 runs in the ODI format of the game. He has scored a solitary ton in international cricket as well.
Stuart Law played his last international match for the Australian side in the year 1999, against the England outfit at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. Law has also had a successful run coaching various teams.
The Aussie has coached the Bangladesh cricket team in 2011, after which he also coached the West Indies side for more than a year in the 2017-18 season.
