Ishan Kishan elated after MI buy him back at a handsome deal
Indian wicketkeeping-batter Ishan Kishan made all the noise on day one of the IPL mega auction as he initiated all the bidding wars among the teams. As soon as his name popped up, Mumbai Indians and Punjab Kings started bidding for him. However, Gujarat joined later and so did Sunrisers Hyderabad but in the end, he was bagged by his old side Mumbai Indians after an aggressive bidding war against SRH.
Kishan, who got roped in by Mumbai at a whopping INR 15.25 crore, took to his Twitter to express his happiness. The young batter talked of his memories with the five-time winning champions and thanked the management for showing their faith in him.
“I’m coming home to Aamchi Mumbai and I can’t wait to reunite. I missed you as we have made so many memories together but our stories are just getting started. Thank you to team owners and management for having faith in me. See you all soon,” tweeted Ishan Kishan.

Talking of Kishan, he has been performing well for Mumbai Indians in the last two years. Though he started IPL 2021 on a low tone, he shined a bit towards the later stages, wherein Mumbai Indians failed to reach the playoffs stage. It has to be noted that Kishan had a dreamy 2020 IPL season where he amassed a total of 516 runs while averaging at 57.33 and a strike rate in excess of 145.
The Jharkhand batter will be a great asset for Mumbai Indians moving forward in the contest as they had retained the likes of Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, Suraykumar Yadav, and Kieron Pollard. He can be a great option at the top and even in the middle and provides a wicketkeeping option as well. On the other hand, a left-hand batting option will be a great option for five-time champions.
Mumbai Indians will be marching in IPL 2022 while eyeing a record sixth title in their kitty under the leadership of Rohit Sharma.
