IPL 2022: Sam Curran reasons out why he didn’t enter mega auction
The mega auction of IPL 2022 is all set to take place in the month of February and it will be the time for franchises to come up with their best strategies. However, there are several players who haven’t given their names for the upcoming auction and it has certainly given fans a little shock. English all-rounder Sam Curran is also one of the cricketers who won’t be seen in the upcoming edition of the T20 league.
In the latest turn of events, Curran has come up with his reasons and added why he would not be available for the fresh IPL season. The all-rounder added that he is back to the nets and will focus on his rehabilitation and would mark his comeback with Surrey after recovering from his injury.
“It was agreed that sadly I should not enter the IPL auction this year and to focus on my rehabilitation. I’m back in the nets and feeling great so hope to be back soon, Wishing everyone all the best for the tournament. I look forward to starting the season with @surreycricket,” tweeted Curran.

It has to be noted that Surrey cricketer missed a part of the IPL 2021 after complaining the pain in his lower back. He was then ruled out of IPL 2021 and even missed the entire action of T20 World Cup 2021. He has been of great value for the yellow franchise in recent years but he wasn’t retained by them ahead of the mega auction.
CSK retained legendary skipper MS Dhoni, Ravindra Jadeja, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and Moeen Ali. It remains to be seen if the English all-rounder would be back in action in the next edition, given he brings a great skillset to the table.
Talking of other significant names who will be missing out of IPL mega auction and the season ultimately are Jofra Archer, Ben Stokes, Chris Woakes, and Chris Gayle. The mega auction is all set to take place in the month of February as per later reports, the fresh season of IPL might kick off from March-end.
