Irfan and Yusuf Pathan’s Academy to provide free meals to COVID-hit people

The situation in India is getting worse day by day as the second wave of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic has caused a medical emergency in the country. Daily lakhs of people are testing positive for the novel coronavirus while thousands of people are losing their lives.

Seeing the plight of the country, many cricket players have come forward to do their bit and donate to show their solidarity to the people of India. On May 5, Wednesday, Irfan Pathan, declared that his cricket academy, Cricket Academy of Pathans (CAP) is going to provide free meals to the people infected by the novel coronavirus in the South Delhi region.

In the past few days, Delhi has emerged as one of the worst Covid-19 hit areas as the infected rate has reached up to 30% with many people struggling to find hospital beds, oxygen, and other basic medical essentials. Irfan took to his official Twitter handle to make people aware of the noble deed.

Irfan is himself a survivor of Covid-19 as the 36-year-old contracted the virus while plying his trade for India Legends during the inaugural edition of the Road Safety World Series in March 2021. Irfan’s brother and former Indian batsman Yusuf Patham was also infected with the deadly virus at the same time.
