IPL 2021: Brett Lee makes a contribution of 1 Bitcoin to India’s fight against COVID-19
After Pat Cummins donated a sizable amount to India for fighting against COVID-19, former Australian pacer Brett Lee followed suit by making a contribution to the same cause. On Tuesday, the ex-cricketer uploaded a picture on Instagram in which he announced the contribution which he made.
The pacer, who was once renowned as the fastest in the world, wrote a message for his fans. Through the message, he explained his decision to make the contribution and also called India, his second home. He is currently in India working as a presenter and broadcaster for Star Sports in their coverage of the Indian Premier League 2021.
In the message which he posted on Instagram, the 44-year-old wrote, “India has always been like a second home for me. The love and affection that I have got from the people of this country both during my professional career and even after my retirement, holds a special place in my heart. It saddens me deeply to see people suffering due to the ongoing pandemic.”
Brett Lee praised Pat Cummins to take the initiative first
There has been a recent upsurge in the COVID-19 cases in India and close to 3.5 lakh people are getting tested positive across the country every day. This has created a very bad situation, where citizens are not getting proper medical facilities. Brett Lee further went on and revealed that he has made a contribution of 1 BTC (Bitcoin) to Crypto relief to help with the purchase of oxygen supplies.
“I feel privileged to be in a position of making a difference,” he said. “Now is the time to be united and ensure we do as much as we can to help the ones in need. I’d also want to thank all the frontline workers who have been working round the clock during these tough times,” Lee wrote in his message.

Lee also praised Kolkata Knight Riders player Pat Cummins for making the contribution on Monday. The premier fast bowler who is playing in the league shelled out $50,000 for the same cause.
