Shardul Thakur reveals the golden advice he received from Sachin Tendulkar

Shardul Thakur

Batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar celebrated his birthday on April 24. On his special day, the Master Blaster received good messages and wishes from all over the cricket fraternity. The IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings (CSK) was not behind as they also posted a special video on their official Twitter handle to wish the former Indian captain.

In a clip shared on the franchise Twitter handle, India’s pace sensation Shardul Thakur recalled an incident from Mumbai’s dressing room where he received a piece of golden advice from the batting maestro. Shardul said that Tendulkar told him to keep practising and working hard even if he isn’t playing the matches as that will help him a lot in being consistent about his length and pace.

“I think it was just before our Ranji Trophy final or maybe we won the Ranji Trophy final and we came back fresh for another season. I was discussing something with Sachin Paaji. He was explaining to me the lines and he just went into flashback and he told me that you don’t remember I had told you about certain lines and lengths and certain skillsets, so keep doing that.

“He said whenever you find time, apart from your match practice, keep practicing, keep working hard. I think it has helped a lot,” Shardul Thakur recalled in a video shared by the Chennai Super Kings on their Twitter handle.

Shardul Thakur in IPL 2021

The right-arm seamer Shardul Thakur is plying his trade for the IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the ongoing 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The bowler isn’t having an ideal run in the T20 Extravaganza as in the four matches thus far, he has picked just three wickets at an economy rate of 11.27. His best figures in the competition are 2/53.

CSK, on the other hand, is shining bright in IPL 2021 as they are proudly placed at the second position on the points table with three wins under their belt from four games.
