IPL 2021: RCB vs KKR Preview – Unbeaten Bangalore aim to keep winning streak alive

In a season in which Royal Challengers Bangalore are quite desperate to win, captain Virat Kohli would be happy to have started the campaign of IPL 2021 with two straight wins. Now, their next challenge will be up against Kolkata Knight Riders in Chennai on April 18. This will be the first afternoon game of the tournament. Hence, the conditions will be slightly different than what we have seen so far in the league.

KKR are coming into this match after losing a match against Mumbai Indians, which they should have easily won. It will be interesting to see how well they can bounce back from that defeat. In head to head, Kolkata have won 14 out of the 26 matches, while RCB has won 12, out of which two were in the last edition of the IPL.

Match Info:

IPL 2021 Match 10 – Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Kolkata Knight Riders

Venue: MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai

Time: 3:30 PM IST

Head to head

Stat Attack:

KKR openers Shubman Gill and Nitish Rana have managed to put on 50+ runs for the opening wicket in both
their games this season.

Team News:

Royal Challengers Bangalore: After their successive victories, it is unlikely that RCB will want to change their combination. But, considering the kind of experimentation they have done with their batting lineup so far, things could go southways quite easily. RCB will also be worrying about Daniel Christian’s role in the side. The Aussie all-rounder has not contributed much with the bat or with the ball in the first two matches. Once Daniel Sams is back, RCB still could think of replacing him but until then, they might stick to the 37-year-old.

Kolkata Knight Riders: Kolkata will not be too worried after their loss against Mumbai because they did most things right during that match. It is important for them to overcome that heartbreaking loss and come back even stronger. They should keep the same team, but Eoin Morgan has confused some fans with the way he has used Harbhajan Singh. As RCB has Devdutt Padikkal, a left-hander opening for them, the veteran off-spinner could be seen opening the attack again.
