Ashes 2021-22: 5th Test Review – Australia thump England to pocket the Ashes

England completely fell apart on Day 3. Set a target of 271, the England side started their run chase solidly, as their openers, Rory Burns and Zak Crawley put on a 68-run partnership. But after that, England collapsed sensationally and were bowled out for just 124, as Australia thrashed their opposition by 146 runs.

Australia ended the Ashes on a high, and have won the series 4-0. England will be extremely disappointed with their Ashes campaign as the Joe Root-led side was thoroughly outplayed in every department of the game by a spirited Australian side.

Earlier in the day, the Aussies were bowled out for 155 as none of their batters could score a half-century. However, the Australian bowlers stepped up to the occasion and allowed the kangaroos to come out on top.
