South Africa and the Netherlands are all set to lock horns in a three-match ODI series, starting Friday, November 26. The SuperSport Park in Centurion will play hosts to all three matches in the 50-overs format. Both teams are fresh from playing in the T20 World Cup 2021 in Oman and the UAE. A number of exciting players will be on show from both teams in the upcoming ODI series.

Max O’Dowd
Max O’Dowd has been a fulcrum of the Netherlands’ top order for quite some time now. Although his team faltered in the T20 World Cup 2021, the right-hander showed his class. The 27-year-old was the leading run-scorer for the Netherlands in the mega event. With two half-centuries to show for his efforts, O’Dowd scored 123 runs at an average of 41 and a strike rate of 116.03.
Roelof van der Merwe
Roelof van der Merwe had a torrid time while playing in the T20 World Cup 2021. In the six overs he bowled in the tournament, the veteran couldn’t pick up a single wicket. Moreover, he leaked runs at an economy rate of 9.50 and couldn’t contribute much with the bat. Van der Merwe will be up against his former national team and he’d be desperate to make an impact with bat and ball.
Janneman Malan
Janneman Malan has made a thunderous start to his ODI career. The right-hander has played only nine innings in the 50-over format but has amassed 645 runs at an incredible average of 92.14 and a strike rate of 92.53. With three tons and two half-centuries, he has a top score of an unbeaten 177. The Netherlands’ bowlers can’t afford to let him settle into a rhythm.
Dwaine Pretorius
Dwaine Pretorius has been exceptional for South Africa in the last few weeks. He played in the T20 World Cup where he picked up nine wickets and was the joint-highest wicket-taker for his team along with Anrich Nortje. Pretorius is also more than handy with the bat in hand as he has scored over 6000 runs in his career, combining first-class, List A and T20 cricket.
Tabraiz Shamsi
Tabraiz Shamsi has been exceptional for South Africa in the last few months. He has bowled well across formats, showing his class and calibre. In the T20 World Cup, he notched eight wickets and bowled at an economy rate of 6.36. If Shamsi comes into his own, the Netherlands’ batters could find themselves in a lot of trouble in the upcoming ODI series.
