Michael Vaughan wants Liam Livingstone in England’s Test setup as Jos Buttler’s replacement

England outplayed India in both the departments in the third Test match and secured a victory by an innings and 76 runs. With the series levelled now, it will be intriguing to watch how the remaining matches unfold. However, the England wicketkeeper Jos Buttler won’t be available for the remainder of the series. The former England captain Michael Vaughan has suggested that Liam Livingstone should be included in the squad for the remainder of the Test series against India.

Livingstone has been in splendid form in the white-ball cricket lately. He smashed England’s fastest ever century during the T20I series against Pakistan and also had an impressive stint in the T20 Blast tournament for Lancashire and further exuded his flair in The Hundred as well. Livingstone was named the men’s MVP in The Hundred after starring for Birmingham Phoenix in the recently concluded competition. His current form tempted Vaughan to reckon his inclusion in the Test side.

A few users pointed that if the white ball form is to be considered then there are many players in line for England to consider. While a few seemed to have not liked the suggestion of Vaughan.

About the series, after India triumphed at Lord’s, England made a remarkable comeback in the five-match Test series. The India collapsed in the first innings of the third Test as they were bundled up for just 78 runs. The visitors then conceded a massive lead that eventually fashioned England’s victory.

Ahead of the fourth Test, Chris Woakes has returned to England’s Test squad. He had missed the first three Tests owing to a heel injury. Jonny Bairstow will be taking responsibility for the glove work for the fourth Test. While on the other hand, Sam Billings has been included in the side as the replacement of Jos Buttler.
