The Hundred: Top five performers from the Men’s inaugural season
The inaugural edition of The Hundred Men’s competition has been done and dusted, with Southern Brave walking away with the title. The James Vince-led side defeated Birmingham Phoenix by 32 runs in the final clash to get the glory. One has to admit that the tournament saw some exciting action between the bat and the ball as most of the games went right down to the wire.
Notably, this competition saw 100-ball per-side matches. With the format being entirely new, several cricket fans and experts were intrigued to see how the games panned out. They were not disappointed with T20 stars from different parts plying their trade. While Southern Brave emerged title winners, players from several teams made a mark.

5) Adil Rashid – 12 wickets
The veteran leg-spinner was at his best in the competition. Playing for Northern Superchargers, Rashid constantly troubled the batters in the middle-order with his mysterious deliveries. While he took wickets at regular intervals, his economical bowling made him an even greater asset. Overall, he took 12 wickets in seven games, the joint-highest for any bowler in the competition.
4) James Vince – 229 runs
Skipper James Vince was instrumental in taking Southern Brave to the illustrious title. The dasher scored runs consistently and tormented many potent bowlers. Overall, he scored 229 runs in 10 outings, which also include two half-centuries. Not to forgot, the England international was précised in his decision-making as well.

The New Zealand speedster couldn’t do anything wrong throughout the competition. Representing Birmingham Phoenix, Milne breathed fire with the ball and ran through several batting line-ups. Alongside taking wickets regularly, Milne was also a miser in leaking runs. In total, he took 12 wickets in eight outings, with his economy rate being 5.73.
2) Moeen Ali – 225 runs, 4 wickets
The veteran England all-rounder also impressed one and throughout the season. Leading Birmingham Phoenix, Ali delivered in all three departments as his side advanced to the final clash without any hassle. Coming to his numbers, the southpaw slammed 225 runs in seven outings, with his strike rate being just below 150. He also picked four wickets.

England all-rounder has been on a roll for a while and he didn’t fail to shine in the inaugural edition of The Hundred as well. Livingstone scored runs consistently, and that too at an exceptional strike rate of 178/46. In nine outings, the Birmingham Phoenix star slammed 348 runs, the highest for anyone in the tournament. If that’s not enough, he also scalped five wickets.
