Wasim Jaffer hints India will miss Ravichandran Ashwin at Lord’s on final day

Ravichandran Ashwin

In the first Test match between England and India, Ravichandran Ashwin did not feature in the playing XI and that didn’t go well with many cricket experts and fans as there was a buzz created about it on the social media platforms. In the Lord’s Test as well, Ashwin missed out to be in the squad. However, after Moeen Ali reaped rewards in the ongoing second Test, former India opener Wasim Jaffer has pointed that India might miss the services of Ashwin.

Jaffer posted a picture on his social media accounts wherein some dust is spotted after the ball had pitched. England off-spinner Moeen Ali looked quite lethal with the ball in India’s second innings as he got the ball to turn sharply. This prompted Jaffer to share the picture and leave a hint that India would have benefited from these conditions had Ashwin was included in the squad.

Jaffer added an interesting caption to the post as well wherein he wrote: “Let me tell you a kutti story.. The main character is missing. #ENGvIND.”

His post fetched in a lot of replies from his followers as usual. The fans too lamented the absence of Ashwin in the Test match. The picture portrays that the pitch has assistance for the spinners on days four and five and the cricket on-lookers felt that the experience and variations that the off-spinner has under his sleeves would have been a great asset for the side.
