Curtly Ambrose opines ahead of WI vs PAK series
Pakistan are going to see West Indies for a four-match T20I series starting on July 28. The series initially consisted of five matches but one had to be called off as West Indies- Australia ODI series had to be rescheduled due to the COVID-19 scare in the WI camp. In the same line of events, former West Indies pacer Curtly Ambrose added that the clash between his side and men in green is going to be an interesting affair.
Ambrose added that Pakistan and West Indies are quite a similar team in the aspect that some days they look best in the world and on other days, they appear totally clueless. His comments came ahead of the opening T20I which is scheduled for July 28, Wednesday. After the four-match T20I series, both the teams will lock horns in the two-match Test series which will begin on August 12.
“Pakistan and West Indies are similar. They could blow real hot and look like the best in the world or they could be very cold and look like they don’t know what’s going on. There is hardly any middle ground. That is going to make the West Indies-Pakistan series very interesting. Who will blow hot for longer?”, Ambrose said during the Curtly Karishma show.
I am going to give West Indies the edge for T20Is: Curtly Ambrose
Moving ahead, the former West Indies cricketer lavished praise on Pakistan’s ace batsman Babar Azam. He added that he is looking forward to seeing Azam play and he is a wonderful cricketer. Also, the home side cannot take Pakistan lightly and will have to play well in order to beat them across series, pondered Ambrose.
“Babar Azam is a wonderful cricketer. I am looking forward to seeing him. I haven’t seen him live. Pakistan are a team that cannot be taken for granted. For the T20s, I am going to give West Indies the edge but they still have to play well to beat Pakistan. West Indies haven’t been playing all that well in Test cricket so let’s see how that goes,” Ambrose added.
