Earlier in his career, Shivam Dube had emerged as an impressive seam bowling all-rounder. He had turned many heads owing to his all-rounding abilities and the aggressive game he played. In the domestic circuit too, he displayed his flair which brought him under the attention of many.
But eventually, he wasn’t able to fetch any match-winning performances in the international circuit. Since he made his debut against Bangladesh in the year 2019, the southpaw has played just 13 T20 International games scoring 105 runs and scalping only five wickets. He last played in the Indian blues against New Zealand in February 2020.
Owing to his dip in form he was dropped from the Royal Challengers Bangalore team ahead of the mini-auction in 2021. Thus in February 2021, Shivam Dube was bought by the Rajasthan Royals in the IPL auction ahead of the IPL 2021 season. After his selection in the side, Dube had expressed his excitement of getting in some tips from the Sri Lankan legend Kumar Sangakkara.
The remainder of the Indian Premier League 2021 is set to resume in Dubai from September. Dube, who is a part of the Rajasthan Royals team, would be keen to perform well in the tournament. In the first half of the IPL, it was evident that the team was focusing on his batting more. He was able to score a few crucial runs for the team. He played six matches and managed to score 145 runs with his highest score being 45. Going ahead in the tournament it will be pivotal for him to fetch in some good performances for his team to fix his spot in the side.
