MS Dhoni imitates Ravindra Jadeja’s ‘sword-waving’ celebration, CSK all-rounder responds
Ravindra Jadeja has been on a roll lately, and one can check his recent performances for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to verify the fact. By the time Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 was suspended, the MS Dhoni-led CSK was second in the team standings with five wins in seven games, and a lot of credit goes to Jadeja. The star all-rounder played handy cameos regularly alongside hurting oppositions with his economical spells.
One can’t also ignore his contribution while fielding. Apart from his all-round abilities, Jadeja also has some more skills up his sleeves to entertain the fans. His sword-waving celebration has become a trademark of his batting, with the all-rounder unleashing it after reaching significant milestones. While imitating Jadeja’s iconic celebration isn’t easy, MS Dhoni tried to do that with bare hands.
On Sunday, CSK’s official Instagram account shared a video of Dhoni mimicking the unique celebration during one of the training sessions. The former Indian captain was seen sitting alongside Robin Uthappa when he tried to imitate Jadeja’s celebration with his right hand. As both Dhoni and Uthappa were smiling, one can presume that the CSK skipper was showing it off to someone from the team.

Jadeja quickly responded to CSK’s post as he advised the veteran wicketkeeper-batsman to do the celebration with a bat.
“Should try with the bat,” Jadeja commented alongside a grinning-face emoticon.
Meanwhile, the 14th season of IPL was suspended midway after multiple players and staff members contracted the COVID-19 virus. Out of the 60 scheduled game, only 29 were completed till the season suspension, and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) need to a find a window in the jam-packed cricket calendar to conduct the remaining games.
CSK would indeed have been one of the most disappointed sides with the postponement as they were having a sensational season. With five wins already under the kitty, the three-time champions needed just three more wins from their remaining seven games to officially secure a place in the playoffs. Nevertheless, they would be determined to extend their winning run when the tournament resumes.
