Ashwin offers to give away N95 masks in India’s fight against COVID-19
Ravi Ashwin, the Indian off-spinner, has had a rough time of late. The veteran left the 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League midway to take care of his family. Later it was learned that 10 of his family members- six adults and four children- were tested positive for the COVID-19 virus. Prithi Narayan, Ashwin’s wife, shared the development of the happenings.
In India, the number of infected cases has gone up in excess of four lakhs and the death tolls are going up as well. In the meantime, when his family is going through a tumultuous time in the ungodly pandemic, the Tamil Nadu-born Ashwin has been making the Indian citizens aware of the need to wear masks and getting vaccinated at the earliest possible time.
I urge everyone going to get their vaccine shot to keep a safe distance from one another and double mask. ( no cloth masks pls) . The very point of getting a vaccine is to fight this deadly virus, let’s not make that hopeful idea into a cluster. #COVID19India

Ravi Ashwin takes a heartfelt step
He also vowed to give away the N95 masks after a user said that they are tough to afford for the ones with a low income. “N 95 masks can be washed and reused. I am happy to buy and give it to people who can’t afford it! Please let me know ways to distribute them if you or anyone on my timeline knows how,” Ashwin wrote.

Earlier, the 2021 IPL had to be suspended due to the pandemic. Jay Shah, the BCCI secretary, stated that the safety of the players involved in the league was a priority.
“The BCCI and the IPL GC have unanimously decided to postpone the 2021 season till further notice. We don’t wish to compromise the safety of the players, the people involved, the employees, the groundsmen, the match officials, every single person involved,” he said.
