Shreyas Iyer updates after successful shoulder surgery
Shreyas Iyer has vowed to return to action in no time after undergoing a successful shoulder injury. Iyer was recently ruled out of the entire IPL after suffering the injury during the first ODI against England last month. It was the third time since IPL 2020 that Iyer had hurt the left shoulder. He had also hurt the same shoulder during the ODI series in Australia in November.
Iyer suffered the injury while fielding. Posted at extra cover, he fell awkwardly on his left shoulder while successfully intercepting a drive from Johnny Bairstow in the eighth over of the England innings. He looked in pain straight away as he was rolled on the turf while holding his left shoulder. He received the medical attention immediately before walking off the field for a scan which revealed he had “subluxation” (partially dislocated) in his shoulder.
Iyer is now all set for his rehabilitation programme after going under the knife. The India star himself took to Instagram to give an update on his surgery to the fans. Posting a picture from the hospital bed, Iyer said that he would be back in no time. The right-handed batsman also thanked his fans for the wishes, writing:
“Surgery was a success and with lion-hearted determination, I’ll be back in no time. Thank you for your wishes.
