IPL 2021: RCB pace bowler Daniel Sams tests positive for COVID-19
Australian left-arm fast bowler Daniel Sams, currently in India for IPL 2021, has been tested positive for COVID-19. Royal Challengers Bangalore confirmed the news via a statement from their official social media handle. On arrival, Sams was tested negative but his recent test has come positive. The cricketer is asymptomatic and is currently placed in isolation.
Official Statement: Daniel Sams checked into the team hotel in Chennai on April 3rd, with a negative COVID report on arrival. His report from the 2nd test on 7th April came positive. Sams is currently asymptomatic and he is currently in isolation at a designated medical facility.

Sams made his IPL debut in the 2020 season as he represented Delhi Capitals in the UAE. The bowling all-rounder replaced Jason Roy. At the start of the IPL 2021 season, Delhi Capitals traded Daniel Sams with Royal Challengers Bangalore. In December 2020, he made his international debut in a T20I against India. The left-arm bowler has featured in four matches for Australia.
