Irfan Pathan tests positive for COVID-19
Former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan, who recently took part in the Road Safety World Series, has been tested positive with COVID-19. The news comes two days after his brother, Yusuf Pathan was also tested positive for the virus. The duo were integral members of the India Legends team which won the Road Safety T20 World Series recently held in Raipur.
The second wave of coronavirus has just seemed to have hit India. There has been a huge upsurge in coronavirus cases in the country. Maharashtra has been at the centre stage of things while other states have also witnessed several positive cases in the last few days.
Just the day on which this news came, it was also revealed that Yusuf Pathan, who was the hero for India Legends in the final, was tested positive with COVID-19. Earlier, S Badrinath another member of the India Legends revealed through a tweet that he was also tested with COVID-19.
During the tournament, Irfan Pathan took seven wickets in as many matches and also scored 126 runs at a strike rate of 185. Interestingly, he batted thrice, scored two fifties, one of which was match-winning, but wasn’t dismissed even once during the tournament. Yusuf Pathan, too, did well, scoring a match-winning fifty in the final. He was also the second-highest wicket-taker with nine wickets.
