IND vs ENG: Suryakumar Yadav shares his emotions after making India debut
14th March 2021 was an extremely special day for Suryakumar Yadav. The Indian cricketer took the field for his country for the first time in T20Is, and it was a moment for Yadav to savour. Even though he could not go out and wield the willow in his debut match, it was an unforgettable day for the Mumbai Indians’ batsman.
The Indian side produced a perfect performance and decimated the England side on Yadav’s debut. After the visitors scored 164/6 in their allotted 20 overs, the Indian side, led by skipper Virat Kohli and debutant Ishan Kishan decimated the England bowling attack with the bat.
While the legendary Kohli scored a classy 73* off 49 deliveries, Kishan blasted a murderous 32-ball 56 to completely destroy the visitors. Rishabh Pant too, chipped in with a blazing cameo, scoring 26 runs at a strike rate of 200. And with this emphatic 7 wicket victory, the Indian team has levelled the five-match T20I series 1-1. However, Yadav was extremely delighted to wear the Indian jersey for the first time in an international match and has let his thoughts known to the world on Twitter.
This one is for my mom, dad, sister, my wife, my coach and all my well wishers.
