IND vs ENG: Warne tears into Michael Vaughan after the latter criticised the Chennai pitch
Michael Vaughan finds himself in the news more often than not. The former England skipper is not afraid to share his thoughts about the game of cricket, and there have been many occasions where his tweets have not been received well by the public.
Yet again, Michael Vaughan was scathing in his criticism about the pitch for the second Test at Chennai. Vaughan was of the view that the pitch did not do much in the first two sessions, but started spinning when the England batsmen got their blades out. He even said that the Indian side could have forced a draw in the first rubber if they had batted in the similar manner like they did in the first innings of the second Test. Vaughan even concluded that the Chennai pitch used for the second Test was not a good one for Test cricket.
Here is Michael Vaughan’s tweet
It didn’t do anywhere near as much for 2 sessions … Spun but not like what it’s doing now … India would have drawn the first Test if they had batted anything like in the 1st innings … This isn’t a good Test match pitch … https://t.co/HhK6dYLiHm

Shane Warne tears into Michael Vaughan
However, Australian legend Shane Warne does not agree with Vaughan and has voiced out his thoughts on the matter. Warne opined that in the first Test, the pitch started ‘exploding’ in the last few days, and when the Indian side was thrashed in the first rubber nobody raised any objection about the nature of the pitch.
Australia’s highest taker in Test cricket also said that the pitch has been exactly the same for both the sides from the first ball in the second Test. Warne even stated that England bowled poorly and the likes of Rohit Sharma and Ajinkya Rahane showed the way to play on this pitch. He also out rightly said that India batted and bowled much better than their English counterparts. Warne minced no words and concluded by stating that the conditions were exactly the same for both sides. You can check out Warne’s tweets below.
Come on maaaaaate ! The last few days of the 1st test, the wicket started exploding & no one said a word about the pitch when India had no chance. At least this test it’s been the same for both teams from ball one. Eng bowled poorly & Rohit, Pant and Jinx showed how to bat. https://t.co/lx31k7BqCl

There’s no diff between the ball seaming/spinning to much. We always want a fair contest between bat/ball. India have batted & bowled better than Eng in this match – simple. Conditions have been the same for both sides from ball one. But this is excessive & in favour of the ball https://t.co/lx31k7BqCl

As far as the Test match is concerned, the Indian side has stamped its authority over the opposition in every single department of the game.
