IND vs ENG: Manoj Tiwary shares a detailed plan to dismiss in-form Joe Root

Tiwary

Veteran Indian batsman Manoj Tiwary has come up with a detailed plan for Team India’s spinners to dismiss in-form England skipper Joe Root in the ongoing Test series. Even before the start of the series, Root was seen as the biggest hurdle for Team India and the right-handed batsman proved it right with a scintillating batting display in the first Test.

Root landed in India after starring in the two-match Test series in Sri Lanka. He had played knocks of 228 and 186 to lead his side to a crushing 2-0 win. And while it was widely expected that he might not continue his good form in the challenging conditions of India and against their formidable attack, Root proved everyone wrong.

Playing his 100th Test, Root led the foundation for England’s huge 227-run win by playing a sublime knock of 218 in the first innings. In the second innings too, he played a quickfire knock of 40 as England crushed their fancied hosts to take the lead in the four-match series.

Here is Manoj Tiwary’s plan:

The kind of form Joe Root is in at the moment, the Indian team-management must be planning extensively to stop him. And their work might have been made a bit easier by Manoj Tiwary. The veteran batsman took to Twitter to share a detailed field placement to counter Root’s threat as well as other right-handed batsmen who play sweep shot well. He posted a picture of the field placement and stated that it was only for the spinning tracks.
