IND vs ENG: England opener Zak Crawley ruled out of first two Tests

England’s opening batsman Zak Crawley has been ruled out of the first two Test matches against India owing to the sprained right wrist. The English Cricket Board announced the results of the scan in a media statement which ruled the 23-year old out of his first Test in India.

Crawley sustained the injury during England’s practice in Chennai on Tuesday when he slipped on the marble floor in the dressing room. The scan results confirmed that Crawley has jarred his right wrist, which sprained the joint and led to local inflammation, according to the statement.

Crawley has already featured in 10 Test matches for England. He also played in both the recent Test matches against Sri Lanka where he managed only 35 runs in four innings.
