Four instances of players breaching bio-bubble protocols
The COVID-19 situation has given birth to bio-bubbles where the players follow strict restrictions to avoid possible exposure to virus transmission. These bio-bubbles do put a lot of mental stress over the players and their performances too. Inside six months of resumption of the sport, there have been many instances where the player/team breached the protocols intentionally or unintentionally. Following are the instances when players have breached bio-bubble protocols:
Jofra Archer:
Jofra Archer became the first player in international cricket to be dropped for breaching the bio-bubble. This incident took place after he was part of the first Test against West Indies in Southampton. Archer broke the bio-bubble and left for his home in Brighton during a drive from Southampton to Manchester. The England Cricket Board (ECB) decided to drop the all-rounder from the 2nd Test to be played at the Old Trafford. Archer was also fined by his country board for putting the series and players at risk.
Jofra Archer has been fined and received an official written warning for breaking bio-secure protocols.

Pakistan players in New Zealand:
About 6-7 players in the Pakistan squad that toured New Zealand were deemed to be COVID-19 positive during their quarantine period. It was further known that the Pakistan players did not follow the medical protocols properly as they were sharing food, not keeping distance and also did not wear masks at all times. This angered the local government who warned the Pakistan team that they would be sending them back home if the squad members did not follow the quarantine protocols.
West Indies players in New Zealand:
The case of West Indies players during their tour of New Zealand is very similar to that of Pakistan as the Caribbean boys failed to follow the protocols. Two different bubbles were established for West Indies by splitting the squad which was breached by sharing food and roaming in the hallways. This forced the New Zealand Ministry of health to disallow the training facility for the visiting players until the end of their quarantine.
Jordan Cox:
A story to sum up the strangest cricketing summer.
Kent’s Jordan Cox scores 238* in a massive win. Leaves ground, forgets about social distancing and agrees to take a photo with some young fans. Dropped. https://t.co/ELaBGMyvn5

Months before his 20th birthday, Jordan Cox scored his maiden first-class double century with an unbeaten 238 for Kent against Sussex in the Bob Willis Trophy. Cox was involved in a huge partnership of 423 with Jack Leaning during the game which was Kent’s highest stand for any wicket. But after the game, he came in physical contact with the spectators when he posed for photographs with young fans of the club. This resulted in Jordan Cox getting dropped for the following match of the Kent team.
