Sunil Narine and wife Anjellia all set become parents to a baby boy

Veteran West Indies and Kolkata Knight Riders all-rounder Sunil Narine and wife Anjellia are all set to become parents to a baby boy in a couple of weeks. Sunil and Anjellia shared the news of them expecting a baby boy in a gender-reveal ceremony back home in Trinidad and Tobago on Monday evening.

Initially, the all-rounder had announced the news of them expecting another addition to their family via a post of his official Instagram handle. In October, Sunil had shared a picture of his wife flaunting her baby bump with the caption, “Blessings come in little packages from big delivery guys”.

Narine’s stint in IPL 2020

Narine was involved with KKR in the recently-concluded 13th edition of the Indian Premier League in the UAE. One of the oldest members of the Knight Riders family, he has represented Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL since 2012, less than a year after breaking into the international circuit for the Windies.

Narine experienced a torrid run in the league as he could score only 121 runs at an average of 13.44 and scalped 5 wickets at an economy rate of 7.94 in 10 matches. During a game against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP), Sunil was also reported for having an illegal bowling action and was issued a warning regarding the same.

However, the all-rounder warmed the bench for a few days and improved his action to finally get cleared by the IPL’s suspect bowling action committee towards the fag end of the league.

As far as Kolkata Knight Riders are concerned, they failed to make it to the playoffs and finished at the fifth position on the points table with 14 points in 14 games in their bag. Though Royal Challengers Bangalore and Sunrisers Hyderabad also had the same number of points, they got qualified for the second stage of the league due to a better run-rate.
