Batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar on Monday (November 16) recalled his last ever international outing in cricket and threw light on the special things presented to him by the West Indian cricket board. The legendary cricketer also talked about the special gift which was presented to him by another legend Brian Lara.

The world came to a standstill when the ultimate hero of cricket walked off the field for the last time. His glorious career spanning over two decades is full of incredible feats and records. Tendulkar bid adieu to the international format after his 200th Test match against West Indies.

A special gift

Incidentally, his milestone Test outing came in the city that has showered him with tremendous love and respect for years, Mumbai. In his recent tweet, Tendulkar added that he would always be happy to have that wonderful gift by his side, which was presented to him by Lara.

He thanked the entire West Indies fraternity for a great gift (a steel drum) and acknowledged their huge love and respect.

The Master Blaster scored 74 runs in his last Test and was caught by Daren Sammy off Narsingh Deonarine. After the iconic Test, Tendulkar gave a speech at the Wankhede Stadium, which left all the fans in tears.

Tendulkar played his final World Cup in 2011 when the Men in Blue lifted the trophy in utmost style by defeating Sri Lanka. When the Indian team lifted the trophy, Tendulkar became a part of the WC winning squad for the first time in his sparkling career. The fact that he was India’s leading run-getter in the tournament added the cherry on the cake.
