BBL 10: Melbourne Stars sign Nicholas Pooran for six matches
After a successful stint in the Indian Premier League 2020 with Kings XI Punjab, Nicholas Pooran will be representing Melbourne Stars in the upcoming 10th edition of the Big Bash League. The left-handed wicketkeeper-batsman from Trinidad had previously represented Sydney Sixers in the Australian domestic T20 tournament.
“The Melbourne Stars have a very strong team and I’m happy I can be part of that for a few matches this season. I’m also excited to be part of the BBL and heard many good things from Glenn Maxwell. I will keep playing my natural game for the team and hope it helps get the Stars some positive results,” Pooran said.

Melbourne Stars BBL Head Coach David Hussey added that the upcoming Caribbean superstar will bring further firepower to the lineup.
“Nick is an impressive player with some big gears who has been in demand in the IPL, the Carribean Premier League and Pakistan Super League in addition to his West Indies duties for some time. I’m looking forward to having his talents on our side this season,” Hussey said.
The 25 year-old left hand batsman from Trinidad has represented West Indies in 25 One-Day Internationals and 21 T20 Internationals. Pooran is also a part of the West Indies’ T20 International squad to face New Zealand and will be available for six matches with the Stars across December and early January. In the recently concluded IPL campaign, Pooran scored 353 runs, averaging 35 with a strike rate of 170.
The Melbourne Stars also have Jonny Bairstow in their ranks along with Australian stars such as Glenn Maxwell, Marcus Stoinis and Adam Zampa.
