BBL 10: Liam Livingstone returns to Perth for second stint

Livingstone

England batsman Liam Livingstone has signed with the Perth Scorchers for the second year in succession ahead of the 2020-21 Big Bash League. Livingstone enjoyed phenomenal success with the bat in his first season with the Scorchers last year.

Together with Josh Inglis at the top, Livingstone piled up 425 runs at a 140-plus strike rate by the end of the season, including three century-stands with Inglis. The duo will once again be a formidable opening pair for the Scorchers this year.

“I loved my time with Perth last season, I can’t wait to get back out there and get that orange playing shirt back on,” Livingstone said. “I enjoyed opening the batting last year and formed a great partnership with ‘Ingo’, hopefully we can pick up where we left off and continue to entertain the Perth supporters. The Scorchers have a rich history in the BBL, hopefully we can start the season strong and add another Big Bash title to the collection.”

Scorchers coach on Livingstone

Scorchers coach and former Australian cricketer Adam Voges expressed his excitement at having Livingstone back in the side. Livingstone is also a handy leg-spinner and a brilliant fielder who will add more value to the team.

“It’s terrific that Liam has agreed to join us again for BBL|10, he made a great impression last season finishing as one of the competition’s leading run scorers.

“He fitted in very well with our group and along with his handy leg spin and energetic fielding, he brings a wealth of talent to the team.”

The Scorchers finished in sixth place last year, winning only six of their 14 games and losing eight. They will be hoping to improve those numbers this time around.
