Injuries have always been the part and parcel of a sportsman’s career, and players learn to live with them somehow. Sometimes injuries are not significant, and players mark their immediate comeback. On the other hand, there have been injuries in history that have changed the life of a sportsperson. It is too obvious that a player doesn’t like to sit on the other end of the field, down with an injury but to give their body the required rest, they have to miss some games.

In the current season of the Indian Premier League (IPL), we are seeing some players leave the ground due to injuries. Some haven’t even shown up once on the field due to the same. Let’s look at the injured players in IPL 2020 so far.

Chennai Super Kings

Dwayne Bravo had a knee injury coming into the tournament but he has recovered and has been bowling for CSK. Ambati Rayudu is another name from CSK who had to sit out of the team due to a hamstring injury. He showed terrific form in his first outing.

Delhi Capitals

Ravi Ashwin is being considered as the leader of the spin attack for the Delhi team, but he suffered a shoulder injury in his very first outing. He needed a few matches to get back onto the field. Amit Mishra suffered a major injury while fielding a ball on his own bowling. The veteran spinner has been ruled out of the tournament.

Sunrisers Hyderabad

Mitchell Marsh has supposedly suffered the worst injury of IPL 2020, where he was ruled out right after the first match. During the team’s first outing against RCB, he twisted his ankle in the very first over and was ruled out. In fact, he has flown back to Australia. They suffered a massive blow when Bhuvneshwar Kumar attracted a hip injury. The experienced pace bowler has also been ruled out of the season.

Royal Challengers Bangalore

Chris Morris, the South African all-rounder was expected to play a great role in the team’s performance but couldn’t step up for even one match. As per the management of the team, he is suffering a side strain and is likely to be available shortly.

Mumbai Indians

As soon as MI’s star pacer Lasith Malinga pulled out of the tournament, it created a space for a foreign player, and Nathan Coulter-Nile was expected to do the job. However, he hasn’t featured in any of Mumbai’s outings so far due to his side strain, and James Pattinson has been doing a wonderful job. Now it remains a thing to watch, whether Coulter-Nile would be roped in or not when he is fit and available.

Kolkata Knight Riders

England’s fast bowler Harry Gurney pulled out of the IPL which caused the KKR team to look for a replacement. USA pacer Ali Khan earned an opportunity to play in the IPL thus becoming the first USA cricketer to be involved in the tournament. However, he has been ruled out of the tournament without playing a game due to an injury in the practice sessions.

Other two teams, RR and KXIP don’t have any injury issues and all their players are available for selection.
